Faster, lower cost tank emptying with Recycler

Reduce costs and operational downtime with our new tank emptying technology. The Hull Drain Company’s Recycler tanker uses one operative and one vehicle to remove liquids, grease and solids, and fewer trips to dispose of them. This new approach optimises your uptime, saves you money and lowers your impact on the environment.

Recycler is our new approach to emptying everything from small oil tanks to larger factory pits. Whether you're a food manufacturing company with an interceptor tank or a school with catering facilities, our state-of-the-art tanker will deal with your wastewater, sludge and other contents swiftly and efficiently.

Traditional tank emptying process

As an example, a traditional tanker cleaning the grease interceptor at a food factory will extract 20,000kg of waste, which is typically made up of 20% fats and grease, 20% solids and 60% grey water. This is all taken away to be disposed of off site.

Now, the cleaning unit vehicle arrives to clean your pit, using your water supply. Jetting at 3,000 psi, this uses approximately 54 litres per minute, which works out to 3.2 tonnes of your water and takes 90 minutes to 2 hours to clean and refill with water.

Then the tanker will return to take a second load away. Again, this results in 20% fats and grease and 20% solids, and 60% grey water that has just used to refill the tank and has added to your water bill.

Introducing tank cleaning/emptying with jetvac

Jetvac tank cleaning represents a significant advancement over traditional methods. Unlike conventional vacuum trucks that rely solely on suction to remove tank contents, jetvac technology combines high-pressure water jetting with powerful vacuum suction.

This dual-action approach not only dislodges and breaks up stubborn residues and build-up but also effectively captures and removes them in a single streamlined process. As a result, jetvac services offer a more comprehensive clean, reduced need for manual intervention and quicker turnaround times compared to traditional tank emptying methods.

The new, environmentally friendly way

The Drain Company’s new Recycler, which incorporates jetvac technology, is an innovation in tank cleaning and emptying. This process sees waste go into the back of the Recycler, which has a filter that removes solids, before the water goes through an oil recycling unit to separate the oil and water.

The grey water is then used to jet clean and fill the pit, rather than clean water from your system. If there’s any water left after cleaning, that can then be put back into the interceptor, meaning there’s no charge for this water. Plus, we are left with only solids, grease and fats to be disposed of, which can all be done in one trip.

In numbers

  • Trials show a saving of 27.2 tonnes of waste, which is around 75%.

  • Reduces our carbon footprint and reduces yours by up to 50%.

  • Saves money because of fewer trips and more efficient waste disposal.

Environmentally friendly benefits

Our jetvac tank emptying services are not only efficient but also environmentally conscious. By utilising high-pressure water jets, we minimise the need for harsh chemicals, reducing the risk of chemical run-off and contamination. The integrated vacuum system ensures that all waste is contained and properly disposed of, preventing spills and leakage.

Furthermore, our approach reduces overall water usage and energy consumption, supporting your commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. With jetvac technology, you can achieve optimal tank maintenance while contributing to a greener, cleaner future.

For smaller jobs and tighter spaces

In addition to the Recycler, we have a small 7.5-tonne CitiFlex tanker which is capable of holding 1 tonne of waste. This is designed for gaining access to smaller, tighter areas, such as small factories or school drains. This small jetvac has a high pressure jetter and can be used to jet blockages clear in harder-to-reach areas.
